Our annual rainfall is 28 inches (700 mls) and our dry spell is usually only from about Dec/Jan to April each year. It is during the dry period and into winter that we feed hay to the sheep, and we have yet to meet a youngster who does not enjoy a hay-ride on the back of the ute.

The children seem to get a kick out of watching the sheep come running to the back of the vehicle to get the best hay as it is fed out to them from off the ute.
